Pallet changing with the PW 500 Inline

A conveyor line moves the loaded pallets into the pallet changer PW 500 Inline. After the lengthwise positioning the pallet is centered and lifted up. An integrated roller conveyor with lifting function – instead of PW 500’s standard manual pallet truck – is used for this movement. After that the clamping walls enclose the goods and hold it in position. The source pallet can be lowered and be exchanged by the conveyors with the new target pallet.

The highest performance is reached with a conveying flow in one direction. But the clamping procedure of the PW 500 Inline remains the same in its basic requirement: The loaded goods have to be stacked with no gaps and have to be pressure resistant. Possible applications are plastic or wooden boxes, stable cardboard boxes or Tetra Paks®.

The clamping process for the pallet changer is particularly suitable for stable, firmly stacked goods. This type of pallet inverter prevails due to its good price and easy use. The pallet inverter grips the side walls of the stacked goods on two sides and secures them. Then the pallet is lowered and moved forwards. That way, it can be easily replaced with any other pallet. This process is recommended for re-palletising non-sensitive goods such as cardboard boxes, beverage cartons or crates. They are pushed in with an electric hand pallet truck or manual pallet truck and later taken out again.

The modern and robust pallet changers from Baust material flow systems can carry out up to 50 changes per hour. The pallet inverters can also be easily integrated in fully-automated material flow systems. You can exchange any pallets with this pallet inverter. Whether Euro-pallets on plastic pallets for the hygiene sector, on space-saving Düsseldorf pallets or on disposable pallets for transport outside Europe – the Baust pallet changer finishes the job for you quickly and reliably. Here, it doesn’t matter how high the pallet is loaded. The goods only have to withstand the pressure from the side arms.
If the goods are in fact not sensitive, but not very stable, then a pallet inverter can be used in a turning or tilting process. The pallet changer is also suitable for bagged goods as well as for barrels or big bags and goods with an overhang. Whether a turning pallet changer or a tilting pallet changer is better suited to your needs depends on your individual requirements. We would be happy to advise you.

For a pallet changer with a turning process, the pallet is held on three sides. The entire stack is turned by 180 degrees “on its head”. That way, the pallets – which are now on top – can be easily exchanged. In industries in which the orientation of the goods is not important, the new pallet can also be placed on the goods first, and then the entire stack can be removed directly after being turned by the pallet inverter. In this variant, only the old pallet has to be lifted off afterwards.

In the pallet changer tilting process, we secure two side walls of the goods and tilt it by 100° to the back. The pallet moves down for the change and can be replaced ergonomically. Then it is pressed back onto the goods and tilted back to the initial position with the pallet changer. Both variations of pallet inverters can be loaded and unloaded with a lift truck as well as a forklift. They change up to 40 pallets per hour. They are available as a freestanding stand-alone element as part of a material flow system.
Do you have very sensitive goods or pallets with gaps or incomplete loads? No problem! Baust pallet changers with the slide-over process changes the pallets reliably even for sensitive goods. With this process, the pallet inverter works without pressing or tilting. Instead, the goods are gently pushed from the source to the destination pallet.

With the slide-over process, the side walls of the pallet changer encompass the goods very carefully in order to prevent toppling or falling over. The source pallet stands somewhat higher than the previously placed destination pallet. Then, the pallet changer pushes the entire stack carefully onto the destination pallet. Afterwards, it can be easily picked up with a forklift or lift truck. The powerful pallet inverters from Baust material flow systems can handle up to 60 changes per hour with this technology. The pallet changer with the slide-over process is suitable both as a freestanding stand-alone element as well as part of a conveyor system. The units can be loaded alternately from the front and back side and are thereby also usable as a hygienic lock in the food or pharmaceuticals industry. At the same time, pallet changers with the slide-over process are very space-saving.
